We are looking for an enthusiastic, service driven, experienced General Manager with an entrepreneurial spirit, to join our team managing and directing daily business operations at our award winning (recently remodeled) Hampton Inn, Asheville. The General Manager should be experienced in a leadership role, and be able to confidently deliver performance feedback, set goals, foster teamwork, and clearly communicate business objectives to all team members.

Must be able to motivate and positively influence the associates, ensuring high team member engagement and high morale. A top candidate for this position must have proved strong leadership and organizational skills.

What you will be doing

• Function as the primary strategic leader of the hotel team
• Responsible for all aspects of the operation, including guest and associate satisfaction, human resources, financial performance, and sales and revenue generation
• Ensure excellence in guest service while overseeing your Assistant General Managers, Executive Housekeeper, Chief Engineer 
• Interview, select, train, schedule, coach and support associates, ensuring they perform in accordance with established brand or hotel standards and consistent with company core values.
• Drive the sales culture, work closely with Sales and Marketing team to develop and execute sales/ marketing strategies and campaigns
• Analyze business results and work with the leadership team to develop effective pricing/ rate strategies for maximum revenue generation.
• Ensure Breakfast offering is executed in line with all brand and health and safety regulations
• Ensure brand standards are fully implemented and maintained whilst focusing on exceeding guest expectations, and communicating follow-up actions to the team as necessary
• Assist in creating the annual budget and business plan in collaboration with appropriate department heads to ensure the smooth operations of the hotel, set financial goals, and plan expenses
• Monitor actual sales and revenues to determine variance and assess goal accomplishments
• Foster an inclusive environment in which all associates can reach their full potential
• Be a leader and a mentor to management team, foster internal team growth
• Maintain excellent rankings on all websites and social media platforms. Encourage and respond to all guest feedback.
• Resolve customer issues with integrity and in line with Hilton Garden Inn brand promise.

The ideal candidate for this position

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a General Manager in a similar branded hotel
• Strong Hilton brand experience is not required but a plus
• Highly motivated, self-directed, with strong initiative and desire for success
• Exceptional customer service skills are required
• Strong computer skills
• Excellent communication and presentation skills required
• Must be a leader, with a strong business management acumen
