Position SummaryHilton Garden Inn Asheville South is seeking a dependable, professional, and highly observant Security Officer to help ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of our guests, team members, and property assets.The Security Officer plays a critical role in maintaining a secure and welcoming environment across all areas of the hotel. This position requires strong situational awareness, calm decision-making under pressure, professionalism in guest interactions, and consistent communication with hotel leadership and local authorities when necessary.Security Officers represent Asheville Hotel Group’s commitment to safety, service, and operational excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesPatrol & Property Monitoring- Conduct routine patrols of interior and exterior areas of the hotel property.- Inspect guest hallways, stairwells, entry points, and service areas to ensure doors are secure and no hazards are present.- Maintain visible presence in high-traffic areas - Maintain radio communication with team membersEmergency Response & Incident Management- Respond promptly to guest complaints, disturbances, alarms, and calls for assistance.- Assess and manage potentially volatile situations while maintaining professionalism and composure.- Provide immediate support until local law enforcement or emergency responders arrive, when necessary.- Assist in medical emergencies according to training (CPR/First Aid preferred).- De-escalate conflicts and ensure guest safety at all times.Surveillance & Security Systems- Monitor and maintain security camera systems and alarm systems.- Report malfunctioning equipment to management promptly.- Observe and document suspicious activity.- Support implementation and oversight of property security procedures and best practices.- Use surveillance systems as a deterrent and investigative tool when needed.Guest & Patron Management- Escort unruly or disruptive individuals off property when required.- Enforce hotel policies in public areas, including bar or restaurant spaces.- Address loitering or unauthorized presence on hotel property.Administrative & Reporting Duties- Complete detailed incident and shift reports prior to the end of each shift.- Communicate security concerns, patterns, or maintenance issues to the next shift and management.- Maintain accurate documentation for liability and insurance purposes.- Participate in safety meetings and ongoing training.Schedule & Availability- This is an overnight support position- Must be flexible to work weekends, holidays, and cover alternate shifts when needed.QualificationsRequired:- High school diploma or equivalent- Strong communication and interpersonal skills- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations- Physical ability to patrol property for extended periods- Ability to write clear, concise incident reportsPreferred:- Prior hotel or hospitality security experience- CPR/First Aid Certification- Experience with surveillance systems- Knowledge of local laws and safety regulationsPhysical Requirements- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods- Ability to respond quickly to emergencies- Occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs.)- Outdoor patrol in various weather conditions

As a Night Auditor, you are the face of the hotel to every guest and act as an overnight ‘manager on duty’. You will communicate closely with Managers and associates to ensure a positive overall guest experience. Our Night Auditors are primarily Guest Service Agents, and are professional, courteous, honest, and loyal. Most of all they are empowered to make guests happy by exceeding their expectations. Night Auditors also need to be able to maintain quiet and safe environment overnight. Checking in guests and handling their overnight requests, handling end-of-day bookkeeping, auditing and account reconciliation complete all EOD tasks and ensure other departments have done the same.
